Presentation highlights:
It’s your first time speaking at ISE – what are you looking forward to in terms of participation?
Yes, it is the first time to attend this promising meeting. And what I look for is not only to attend the meetings, but to meet the people and have good discussions.
Tell us a bit more about the themes you will be focusing on in your presentation, and your background in the sector
Imaging sensors have played a crucial role in Hamamatsu Photonics from the day 1 of the company. Our strategy was focused during the last 40 years on reducing noise exploring many different technologies. Today we are in a magic moment in which we can see individual photons arriving to the sensor. We broke one barrier and now can explore new applications, like Quantum, that will generate new questions.
What key technology and application trends do you see emerging this year and next for the image sensors sector?
This is difficult to answer, but the evolution never stops. Lower noise, higher speed, good linearity, and acceptable price. The sensors will continue to evolve, and from time to time, a disruptive technology will happen. Which one is next? It is a game to play, we can sometimes win and sometimes lose, but we cannot stop trying.
